With the implementation of the Wildlife Management & Muirburn (Scotland) Act 2024, attending an approved training course and gaining accreditation it will soon be required for anyone intending to use these specific traps in Scotland.
Under this new Act, it will be illegal to use certain traps to kill or capture wild birds or mammals without a licence, in Scotland. To obtain this licence, you must complete an approved training course.
Spring trap courses will be held in the morning, with Corvid trap courses being held in the afternoon.
Cost for BASC members will be £35 per course or £50 for a full day covering both courses (£75 per course for non-members).
