Join us for an unforgettable day on the 20th September in the stunning surroundings of the Graythwaite Estate, Cumbria, for our Women in Shooting Simulated Macnab Experience.
What to expect:
The day will begin with a warm welcome and introductions over tea and coffee, followed by a comprehensive safety briefing. Guests will then be split into groups to rotate through three exciting Macnab-themed experiences:
Fly fishing
Guided by instructors, you’ll cast for Brown Trout on the private 280-acre Esthwaite Water which provides some of the best trout, predator, and coarse fishing in the UK. Nestled in the heart of the Esthwaite valley and surrounded by glorious views, the water not only offers excellent fishing, but also a chance to spot one of the three pairs of Ospreys that nest in the valley and are often seen hunting its waters.
Deer Stalking
We’ll be making the most of the estate’s superb range facilities with a simulated deer stalking experience for all attendees. You’ll start with some time on the range to practice your marksmanship skills at a variety of targets set over different distances. Once confident, you’ll then have the opportunity to put those skills into practice as you are guided on a realistic deer stalking scenario.
Game Shooting
To end the day, we will be testing your shotgun shooting skills on one of the estate’s challenging simulated game drives. Paired with a partner, the roles of shooting and loading for each other will be shared with our BASC shotgun coaches on hand to support anyone with limited previous experience.
Cartridges loaded with steel shot will be provided to allow attendees the opportunity to try alternatives to lead, and our team will be available to assist with any equipment checks or queries you may have.
Full hospitality is included throughout the day including refreshments, in-field elevens and lunch. Please make us aware in advance of any dietary requirements.
For this event you will need to bring with you:
- Your own shotgun, gun slip and shotgun certificate (if owned). We do have a limited number of shotguns which can be borrowed for anyone that requires them.
- Ear and eye protection
- You will also need suitable clothing and footwear for the expected conditions
All other equipment will be provided.
For those looking to stay overnight, we’re able to recommend excellent local accommodation at a discounted rate.
