Join us for a picking-up themed workshop designed for well trained dogs with handlers who are looking to get in to picking-up.
This workshop will cover the key skills every picking up team needs:
- steadiness and obedience
- marking
- sweeping up
- humane dispatch
- good game meat handling
Training will take place outdoors in a relaxed and friendly environment with an expert trainer with access to some fantastic facilities.
Dogs must be comfortable with the sound of gunshot and have all the foundation skills mastered. Handlers with multiple dogs are welcome. We are unable to accommodate reactive or noisy dogs on this workshop.
The workshop will be delivered by Regional Officer Fliss Winters, who has professionally trained gundogs for a number of years and has a track record in winning awards at field trials and working tests with her dogs across the South East. She and her dogs regularly pick up on a variety of shoots.
