BASC North will be hosting a Young Shot’s Driven Game Shooting Experience in Cumbria on Friday 2nd January 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for Young Shot members with some previous shooting experience to join our team of guns for a day’s driven game shooting. Guided by mentors throughout the day, Young Shot’s will enjoy a warm-up simulated drive at clay pigeons, followed by a variety of mixed game drives. They can also learn more about:
- Safety in the field
- Shoot day etiquette
- Quarry identification
- How to prepare game for table
Intended quarry for the day will be pheasants and partridge.
Youngs shots will need to bring their own shotgun to use, a gun slip and approximately 75 cartridges for the day. They will also need to wear comfortable shooting attire, ear protection and have waterproof clothing and footwear for the expected weather conditions. Guns and ear defenders can be borrowed on the day if not owned given prior notice.
If the shotgun being used on the day is on a parents/ guardian’s certificate, then please ensure this person is at registration with the corresponding shotgun certificate. A parent or guardian is required to accompany their child throughout this event.
Shoot day elevenses and refreshments will be served during the day. Transport around the estate will also be provided.
