Join BASC and UK Deer Track & Recovery on Saturday 23rd May for a Practical Introduction to Deer Stalking at Graythwaite Estate in Cumbria.

The event which is aimed at novice deer stalkers and those looking to get started, will cover a broad range of stalking related topics delivered in a series of practical demonstrations and activities.

Topics and activities will include:

  • Discussing training and stalking opportunities available to BASC members
  • Live firing range time and the safe handling of firearms.
  • Shot site assessments and follow up procedures
  • Carcass extraction
  • Gralloching and carcass inspection
  • Use of dogs for tracking wounded deer

Staff and volunteers from both organisations will be delivering the event, and on hand all day to assist with any deer stalking related questions you may have.

Those attending will need to bring suitable clothing and footwear for outdoor conditions.

Cost for the day is £100 per person, which includes the use of all equipment, ammunition and a venison burger for lunch.
