Hosted by BASC regional officer Gavin Howe and joined by several guest speakers, we will be providing information on a range of conservation themed topics.

Alan Johnson, technical advisor for Kings Crops will be joining us to discuss game cover management, providing the opportunity to learn more about game cover planting, mixture selection, establishment, and agri-environmental schemes. There will also be an estate tour to view different sites with both established and newly planted crops.

Wild track Pro will be providing information on woodland management, focusing on deer and squirrel control.  They will be highlighting some of their services and well as providing details on conducting surveys and impact assessments in line with woodland countryside stewardship schemes.

Dave Greaves from Eden Rivers Trust will also deliver a short presentation on water vole conservation in the Eden Valley, the importance of mink control, and how landscape-scale mink eradication might be achieved through collaborative partnerships and new technologies.

The event will be a combination of indoor and outside activities, so please bring waterproof clothing and footwear suitable for the conditions.
