This 1½ day course will be theory and practical based ensuring that the practical element is realistic and relevant, aimed at the shooting community. The training is provided by an ex-front line Army medic expert with 12 years real life experience. Being trained by the best will instil you with confidence and provide all the knowledge and skills required to be a successful first aider.

Course structure
The content of the course will cover the following:

Roles and responsibilities Scene Management
Fractures Casualty Handling
Gunshot Wounds/Associated Wounds Amputations and Crushing Injuries
Splinting Techniques Casualty Evacuation
Spinal Injuries Up to date New and Improved First Aid Equipment Familiarisation
Ticks, Snakes, Bees and Associated Illnesses Choking
Burns Hypo/Hyperthermia
Ballistic Trauma, Severe Bleeding (incl. Chainsaw Trauma) Management of Shock
Safety and Use of a Defibrillator Transporting a Casualty With Spinal Conditions
Tourniquet Usage and Application Individual and Pair CPR
Stroke Diabetes
Cardiac Conditions Celox Familiarisation
Stroke Unresponsive Casualty

Entry requirement
Nil required and no pre course reading required.

How the course is delivered
The course is theory and practical based over 1 ½ days. Teaching the topics and confirming by practice. The Guided Learning Hours for this course is 6 hours for the Ofqual regulated qualification, in conjunction to this we have added additional topics that are bespoke to BASC making the course 1 ½ days.

This course is an Ofqual regulated certificated course. Once completed you will be an in date trained first aider for 3 years.

£200 for BASC Members

£240 for non BASC Members

Additional Information and Cancellation policy
Should there be insufficient bookings, BASC reserve the right to cancel the course. In the interests of fairness BASC will aim to provide candidates notification of cancellation as soon as possible prior to the advertised start date. Candidates will be offered the option to transfer to another course if available.

We strongly recommend that fees for any accommodation you book are refundable as BASC will not be responsible for any losses incurred by candidates.

If for any reason you cancel your place on the course then the following scale of charges may apply:-
