BASC Young Shot members are invited to join BASC North for a fun packed Introduction to Grey Squirrel Management Day at Leighton Hall Estate, Lancashire.

This fun and educational event will provide more information around squirrel ecology, the conservation benefits of managing grey squirrel populations, as well as the methods used to reduce numbers.

Those attending will learn all about traps and trapping, what equipment is used and take part in some grey squirrel management on the day.

We have places available for Young Shots with previous experience in using either air rifle or shotgun.

Those using shotguns on the day must have a good level of competence in the use and handling of shotguns and they will need to bring either a12g or 20g shotgun, which must be choked half or less, nitro proofed and suitable for use with cartridges loaded with steel shot.

All equipment will be provided for Young Shots wanting to use air guns.

Refreshments will be available throughout the day.

Open to BASC Young Shot members only.

Ages: Minimum 12 years. Maximum 18 Years

£30 per Young Shot

Young Shots will need to bring, ear and eye protection (if using shotguns), suitable outdoor clothing for expected weather, plus a packed lunch and snacks. Refreshments will be available throughout the day
