THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED, SIMILAR EVENTS WILL BE ORGANISED ASAP
BASC North have teamed up with Stoneycairn Gundog’s to provide a new and exciting gundog MOT day, on a game shoot near Epworth South Yorkshire.
It’s a great time of year to reflect on the gundog/handler relationship and assess what are your good and bad points now the game season has finished. Perhaps you beat with your dog on a weekend or help pick up birds on a local shoot, then this is a chance to ask questions in a relaxed environment and pick up some training and handling tips.
Simon and Kate (Stoneycairn) will demonstrate some of the key tasks and potential challenges/difficulties using their own dogs, from novice pups to experienced working dogs. Their team are working at some of the best game shoots in the areas throughout the season so they understand how to get the best from your dog in the field. Participants will have an opportunity to put this advice into practice with their dog on a real game shoot making use of the cover crops, water and woodland and all important scent.
This is not a 1 on 1 style training session and will be run as a group workshop with a opportunity for people to share their experiences and challenges while picking up some tips and advice, broad themes and advice will be given in a group with an opportunity for people to ask questions.
Refreshments will be provided on the day, and there will be a small marquee shelter, however, this is very much an outdoor event so please bring appropriate clothing and a packed lunch.
The total cost of the day is £20 per person (plus 1 dog). If you want to bring more dogs please contact us so we can discuss the arrangements.
The day is restricted to 20 participants, places will be allocated on a “first come, first serve” basis.
This event is now fully booked to register interest on similar future events please email gareth.dockerty@basc.org.uk
