Have you ever wanted to try game shooting but are unsure where to start? Or would you like to ensure that you’re well-prepared when you attend a shoot?
Join us on 18 July at Grimsthorpe Estate Shooting Ground, where we will teach you everything you need to know about what to expect during a days game shooting.
We will cover the following topics:
– Best practice
– Quarry recognition
– Attire… Is tweed really necessary?
– Gun safety, including how to hold and load your gun
– Identifying which bird is yours
– Tipping etiquette at the end of a successful day
– Selecting the right cartridge and choke for the species you’re shooting
– Do you need to change chokes between drives?
– The role of gundogs and which breeds are best suited
– The responsibilities of beaters and gamekeepers
We will then check your guns before heading out to shoot various types of sustainable ammunition at driven targets.
