| Have you ever wanted to try game shooting but are unsure where to start? Or would you like to ensure that you’re well-prepared for the season ahead?
Join us on Friday 4 September at Grimsthorpe Estate Shooting Ground, where we will teach you everything you need to know about what to expect during a day’s games shooting. We will cover the following topics: – Best practice for shooting – Quarry recognition – Attire: Is tweed really necessary? – Gun safety – Identifying which bird is yours – Tipping etiquette at the end of a successful day – Selecting the right cartridges and chokes – The role of gundogs and which breeds are best suited for shooting – The responsibilities of beaters and gamekeepers After the theory session, we will head out to shoot various driven targets using sustainable ammuntion. Date: Friday 4 September Cost: £75 for BASC members (Clays and cartridges are included) If you’re not a BASC member and wish to attend, please Join – BASC. BASC membership is £102 per year, granting you all membership benefits, including access to events and courses. Important Information: Attendees must be 18 years of age or over. You may bring your own shotgun, eye and hearing protection and a cap if you have them. If bringing your own gun, please ensure you also bring your shotgun certificate on the day. Guns must be nitro-proof, with chambers of 65mm or longer, choked half or less, and must be either 12 or 20 bore. Please remember to bring your own lunch and wear suitable outdoor clothing according to the weather conditions. We look forward to seeing you there for an action-packed day you won’t forget!
