Range Day – Baronscourt Estate

Due to the outbreak of COVID 19 and government guidance BASC took the decision to postpone all training courses scheduled up until the end of June 2020. With the restrictions starting to be lifted in different areas of the UK at different rates, we expect courses to start going ahead from the 9th July in England and at later dates in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. All courses will be reviewed on a daily basis and be led by government advice. I would like to thank all our future course participants for being understanding during this difficult period. If your course was postponed or is going to be postponed you will be contacted by a member of staff. The list of current courses are published on the BASC website and are open to booking subject to further government guidance.

The BASC NI team are hosting a Range Day for members at Baronscourt Rifle Range, Newtownstewart on Saturday 10th August 2019.

Although primarily aimed at those members who are registered to take part in the Deer Stalking Certificate Level 1 (DSC1) course in August, the Range Day is open to all BASC members.

Those who are registered for DSC1 will have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with deer calibre centrefire rifles under the control of a qualified Range Conducting Officer and safety staff. They will also be offered the opportunity to practice the DSC 1 shooting assessment, prior to the course.   This experience will be invaluable when completing the shooting assessment module of DSC1 and further demonstrates BASC NI’s members first approach.   BASC staff will also be on hand to provide information and answer any questions on the forthcoming DSC course.

The day costs £20 per person and those taking part may bring their own rifles, provided that they are held on firearm certificate and that they have been conditioned for zeroing or target shooting on approved ranges.

Participants should bring a packed lunch and wear suitable outdoor, waterproof clothing and footwear.

Please contact the office on 02892 605050 or email nire@basc.org.uk for more information or to book your place.

Please note closing date for booking a place is Tuesday 6th August.

The DSC1 course will run from 23 – 26 August and you can register by visiting https://events.basc.org.uk/events/deer-stalking-certificate-1-baronscourt-estate-northern-ireland/
