| BASC Young Shot members are invited to join BASC North and Westmorland Wildfowlers Association for an introduction to Game Shooting Day on Saturday 11th November 2023.
This is a fantastic opportunity for Young Shots with previous experience of using shotguns, to take part on a day’s driven game shooting. Guided by mentors throughout the day, Young Shots will also learn about best practice, shoot day etiquette, safety in the field, quarry identification and how to prepare game for table. Intended quarry for the day will be a mixture of pheasants and ducks. Steel shot cartridges will be provided, so please ensure to bring with you a nitro proofed 12g or 20g shotgun with 2 ¾ chambers, which is choked less than half. You will also need to bring ear protection and suitable clothing and footwear for the expected weather. Breakfast rolls, tea and coffee will be served on arrival and shoot day elevenses will be served later in the day. Minimum age 10 Maximum age 18. Under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult.
