BASC would like to invite you to our first Women in Shooting Simulated Macnab, held at the prestigious Swinton Estate on Saturday 28 October.
Registration will start at 9:00am followed by breakfast rolls, refreshments and introductions.
You will then be split into groups and rotate through three different activities based on the famous Macnab challenge.
Activity 1
Hosted by Marina Gibson and her team, you will have fly fishing tuition at the Northern Fishing School, which is based on the Swinton Estate. The activity will be tailored for all abilities with coaches covering equipment and rod set up, casting technique and the opportunity to put your newfound skills to the test on the lake.
Activity 2
One-to-one rifle shooting tuition with a BASC qualified coach with both rimfire and centrefire rifles. The activity will be tailored for all abilities with coaches covering safety, zeroing, and shooting from a range of positions and distances.
Activity 3
One-to-one clay shooting tuition with a BASC qualified coach with targets replicating walked up red grouse. The targets will be tailored for all abilities with coaches covering gun fit, eye dominance, gun mount, safety, etiquette and then onto shooting clays.
There will be a fabulous game BBQ lunch provided where you can enjoy locally shot game, some time to socialise and meet the BASC team.
You do not have to be a SGC or FAC holder to attend the event.
Cost
The cost for each day is £150.
All ammunition, clays, guns, safety equipment, lunch and refreshments are provided. You may bring your own kit if you wish, with the exception of rifles, which must only be provided by BASC. If you are bringing your own shotgun, please bring your shotgun certificate with you on the day.
Event eligibility is as follows:
- You must be a member of BASC
- You must be aged 17 or over
