Category: Basic Metallic Cartridge Reloading Course
Aim
This exciting new course is designed to equip the candidate with the knowledge and skills required to undertake basic metallic cartridge reloading. It is an ideal introduction for the newcomer to reloading.
Our 2 day course will provide the novice or less experienced home loader with a sturdy foundation of knowledge. You must have a Firearms Certificate and your own rifle along with some reloading equipment
On the first day, candidates will learn about safety, reloading law and will perfect their techniques in the classroom. They will learn about the practical aspects of reloading rifle cartridges and gain an insight into the basic equipment required to produce safe reloads. The course also covers brass inspection and preparation, priming methods, powder charging, bullet seating and how to safely disassemble home loads, when required. The course also covers recognising pressure signs in home loaded ammunition.
Candidates will practice what they learn under supervision in the classroom and produce a selection of loads for testing on the range.
On day two, candidates will test their loads on the range in a safe and controlled environment, where they can get the most from their equipment by developing the optimum load for their rifle. Ammunition will be checked on a chronograph, allowing the user to develop drop charts and ballistic data. This is sure to prove useful in both hunting and target shooting.
