BASC North are delighted to announce they will be running an ‘Introduction to Deer Stalking’ day at
Swinton Park Estate in North Yorkshire on Saturday 28th November.
Swinton Estate is approx. 20,000 acres set in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside. The estate has its own Fallow heard, wild roe deer and boasts a brand new larder facility.
This event is for BASC members only and is aimed at those who are interested in taking their first steps into deer stalking and want to learn more about what it entails.
The day will cover the following key area’s:
- Introduction to Deer Stalking presentation looking at why we manage deer, how to get involved and next steps for you.
- Live gralloch demonstration – candidates will be shown a real carcass inspection and gralloch in the deer park by Estate Deer Manager Ollie Seage.
- Live Carcass Butchery demonstration – candidates will be shown how to skin and carry out basic butcher on a carcass.
- Live Firing – candidates will get the opportunity to take several shots at targets out to 100m.
Candidates to bring suitable clothing and footwear for both indoor and outdoor conditions. If candidates have their own deer legal rifle, valid FAC and Ammo they can bring them on the day.
The cost for the day is £150.00 per person, which includes tea, coffee & pastries on arrival and a venison burger and drink for lunch.
