Whether you’re just starting or already have some experience, this day will provide everything you need to sharpen your skills and boost your confidence.
Morning Session:
We’ll cover essential topics including:
-The purpose and techniques of decoying woodpigeons
– Relevant laws
– Identification of quarry
– Range judging
– Building hides
– Setting out decoys
After the classroom session, you will have the opportunity to shoot simulated woodpigeon clay targets from a hide.
Afternoon Session:
After lunch, we will discuss:
– Reconnaissance
– The crops that attract woodpigeons and their feeding patterns
– Effective techniques for roost shooting
– Legal considerations when shooting pigeons
Additionally, you will learn how to dress woodpigeons, followed by a cooking and tasting session.
This engaging and informative event is a fantastic way for you to learn and become the ultimate woodpigeon shooter.
Date: April 11th – Cost: £50 for BASC members (subsidized as a member benefit).

BASC membership is £95 per year (or just £9 per month), granting you all membership benefits, including access to our events and courses.
Important Information:
Attendees must be 18 years of age or older. Please bring your shotgun, eye and hearing protection, a cap and certificate on the day.
Guns must be nitro-proof, with chambers of 65mm or longer, choked less than half, and must be either 12 or 20 bore.
Please remember to bring your own lunch and wear suitable outdoor clothing according to the weather conditions.
